A one-page CV can work well when your relevant experience is naturally concise, when you are applying for a tightly defined role, or when recent work matters far more than older history. It is not a badge of discipline if it forces useful evidence into unreadably small type.
What to cut first
Remove repetition, generic soft-skill claims, old or irrelevant detail and bullets that only describe routine duties. Keep evidence of outcomes, progression and role-specific skills. Compress older positions before compressing the typography.
How to make one page scan well
Use short section headings, consistent dates and compact bullets. Keep contact information on one line where possible, and avoid oversized profile sections. A simple single-column or restrained two-column structure usually makes the page easier to parse.
Build it once. Test the presentation.
Open the FreeShelf Studio, add your details and compare multiple templates with the same content. Use the ATS tools when automated screening is likely, then print or save the version that fits the vacancy.

Is one page always better?
No. A relevant two-page CV is better than an overcrowded one-page CV.
Can a senior CV fit on one page?
Sometimes, but senior applicants often need more room to show scope, progression and outcomes.
Can I test several one-page designs?
Yes. Add your information once in FreeShelf and switch between layouts to see what fits naturally.
